I read the original novel several times when I was a teenager, decades ago
It’s a wonderful story with lots of effective pictures, highly recommended, although a little dated – published in 1949, seventy-five years ago. While I’ve often wondered over the years if this would ever become a movie, I wasn’t expecting this limited series adaptation, so I was very surprised when it came along. I’m also very concerned because it’s one of my favorite reads of all time. “People come and go, but the land remains” is a quote I often use.

Rattlesnake Bite, The Search for the dog Lucky (the princess in the book), Milt, and Ann.
“The World Without End!” “
Other changes, like limiting Ish’s trip to Las Vegas instead of Atlantic City, make sense and aren’t important to the character interactions. Plus, the way the book is structured makes the limited series great production choice. I look forward to the rest of this series. “One Hundred Years of Solitude” is one of the biggest TV and streaming premieres this month.
